Internship and Mentorship Office
The Internship office is a resource for informing Barrett Honors College students and alumni about available internships. If you are interested in finding an internship or if you have an internship and would like to earn Honors credit for your experience, please contact Jill Johnson, Barrett Internship Coordinator: Jill.Johnson@asu.edu or 480-727-6993.

Take some time to do a little research to find out what types of internships are available, and then compile a list of the places you are interested in.

1) Search for opportunities through your college/department:
  • Click on Internship Search by Department and “search internship opportunities”
  • Choose your college and department to find the internship representative’s contact name and number

  • 2) Search for opportunities through the Barrett database:
  • Select the Recent Postings link on the left-hand side sub menu to view the most recent internship positions that have been sent through the Honors-L list-serve.
  • Select the Current Opportunities link to view a list of organizations and companies who have hired Barrett interns in the past and are looking to hire future Barrett students. (Either choose “Internship List” to see an alphabetical listing of all companies or choose “Internships by Major” if you are looking for something specifically related to your degree or career interests)
  • Select the On-Going Barrett Internships link to view the structured internship programs with employers/supervisors who are continually looking for honors students to serve as interns every semester and/or year.

  • 3) More tips:
  • Schedule an appointment to meet with Jill Johnson, Barrett Internship Coordinator (Jill.Johnson@asu.edu; 480-727-6993)
  • If you haven’t done so already, register for honors listserve to receive messages about internship opportunities. Send an email to Keith.Southergill@asu.edu and type the words “subscribe to Honors-L” in the subject line. You will receive all messages sent out regarding internships that randomly become available.
  • The ASU Career Services Department, located on the 3rd floor of the Student Services Building, is a great resource for students who would like assistance in creating a resume and cover letter, as well as preparing for the interview process. Visit their website and use the ‘search jobs and internships’ tab within the Sun Devil CareerLink to check current internships. Contact the Career Services Department at 480-965-2350 for details on workshops or to schedule an appointment with a career counselor.
