To get honors credit for your internship, you will need to take the HON/484 Internship seminar. If your internship is in the Fall or Spring semesters, you will need to take the HON 484 course concurrently with your internship. If your internship is during the Summer, you will need to take HON 484 in the Fall semester directly after your internship. For clarification on which course to enroll in, please contact Jill Johnson (Internship Coordinator, at 480-727-6993 or
Jill.Johnson@asu.edu).
The HON 484 course is designed to find out what information you learned at your internship and how well it relates to your major and career interests. The course only meets 4 times during the Fall and Spring semesters on designated afternoons. The majority of your work is done in your actual internship.
Keep in mind that there is a scale of how many credits you can earn- 45 hrs for each credit (so 90 hours for 2 credits, 135 for 3 credits). 3 credits is the max a student can earn per internship, though you can take the class a second time, for another internship, and earn 3 more. The maximum amount is 6 credits from HON 484.
In order to enroll in the course, please complete and return the three required forms to Jill Johnson (
Student Information Sheet,
Affiliation Agreement,
Book Recommendation Form).
