Dr. Diane Facinelli earned her Ph.D. from Arizona State University in English with an emphasis in Medieval Literature. She taught classes in the Interdisciplinary Humanities Program at ASU and was the Resource Center Director for the Arizona Humanities Council before coming to the Barrett Honors College. Her research focuses on issues of law and government in Medieval Literature and on the Arthurian Legend in literature, history, and art. Most recently, she has concentrated on examining how portrayals of superheroes reflect and influence American culture, and she has built up an impressive comic book library in the process. Dr. Facinelli also directs the London, Dublin and Edinburgh Barrett Honors College Summer Study Abroad Program
