Barrett Leadership and Service Team (BLAST)

Tradition starts here.

The Barrett Leadership and Service Team (or BLAST as members affectionately call it) was founded in the fall 2006 semester. In October the organization elected its first Leadership Council, paving the way for BLAST to register as an official ASU student organization for the spring 2007 semester. The BLAST Leadership Council serves from October to October, enabling the group to successfully host Welcome Week and launch the Barrett Mentoring Program at the beginning of each fall semester. These signature programs function to assimilate new students into the Barrett family and provide them with a successful transition to the honors college and university.

The team works to create and organize new events that will build a strong community among Barrett students, past and present, and lay the foundation for longstanding traditions unique to Barrett, The Honors College. BLAST also supports the following Barrett events: Family Weekend, Homecoming, Barrett Cup, Centennial Lecture, Honors Lecture Series, Rhodes Lecture, Celebrating Honors Thesis Symposium, Graduate Reception and Convocation.
